Within The Allstate Corporation, Allstate Investments manages a portfolio of more than $60 billion in assets across public and private groups and is supported by 300+ team members across risk and return management, operations, finance, technology, legal, and compliance.As part of Allstate Investments' Private and Alternatives Investment Group ( PAIG ), the Portfolio Management & Analytics ( PM&A ) team's goal is to improve investment and portfolio management decisions through the use of data and analytics. The candidate will spend a majority of the time supporting the PM&A, Private Equity, and Infrastructure teams, but will have interactions with other team members across PAIG. The candidate will participate in Investment Committee meetings, portfolio review sessions, and other group meetings, gaining exposure to various stages of the investment life cycle.This is a hybrid internship: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in our downtown River Point office collaborating with the team in person. Wednesday and Friday will be remote.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Portfolio Analytics
    • Work closely with the PM&A, Middle Office, Risk, and Quant teams to assist with hypothesis development, data entry and validation, AI prompt generation, dashboard design, and material creation around portfolio analytics and portfolio construction
    • Utilize interactions with all five PAIG groups to draw connections to the work at hand
    • Conclude the internship experience by preparing a capstone project focused on a specific analytics question that is key to the long-term objectives of the PM&A and PAIG groups
  • Research
    • Leverage third-party sources to develop insights into the broader alternatives / private equity markets for internal materials
  • Investment Underwriting Support
    • As capacity and deal flow allows, assist in the deal underwriting process for the Private Equity and/or Infrastructure teams, in particular around market overviews, portfolio fit, team overviews, and introductory materials
    • Participate in deal discussions, including at Investment Committee meetings

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science; must be a full-time student the semester following the internship
