Job DescriptionGreenberg Traurig is seeking a patent agent to join its Intellectual Property group. in our New York office. We are looking for someone who is hard-working, personable and dedicated to providing clients with top-notch legal services. This position can be resident in various office locations; candidates should specify office location preference in application. The ideal candidate will have two (2) to eight (8) years of relevant experience in the life sciences arena. Experience includes, but not limited to evaluating patent portfolios, performing due diligence investigations, drafting and prosecuting patent applications, and patent portfolio management.
- Candidates should be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office with a strong background in scientific fields relevant to biotechnology.
- Advanced degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry is desired. Ideally, PhD, but not required.
- Experience in a law firm is required.
- Candidates must have excellent academic credentials and communication skills.
- Candidates should possess leadership skills, be comfortable working directly with clients and work well with others.
