PRIMARY FUNCTION
Take direction from a skilled worker or foreman to assist crew in construction duties. Performs any combination of following tasks to receive, store, and distribute material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments.
TYPICAL DUTIES

To work well with supervision and higher craftsman to gain construction experience.
Work with various hand tools.
Retrieve tools and equipment as needed.
Clean up after crew.
Cleans tools & equipment.
Perform various duties to assist crew.
Uncrates equipment and parts, using pry bar and hammer, & wrenches.
Removes debris from roadways and work areas.
Performs variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools, air impacts, hand wrenches.
Unloads materials, such as tools, equipment, sand, from freight cars and trucks, manually or with hand truck; and stacks for storage.
Thorough understanding of the role and responsibilities of the craft being supported.
Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
Safely and effectively move and store material in the packing area.
Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE
Background in construction and especially in a fabrication shop setting is an asset.
Highly preferred experience in operating a forklift.
Must be willing to work frequent overtime.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively.
Must be able and willing to work at elevated heights from ladders, scaffolding, aerial work platforms, etc.
Work may include pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, such as raw or fabricated material, equipment or tools.
Work may include frequent bending, kneeling, crouching and stooping and occasional climbing onto equipment.
Work involves standing and/or walking for extended periods of time, up to a minimum of 8 hours per day.
The essential job functions and duties outlined in this position are considered safety sensitive.
Obtain and maintain an active status within the drug testing program.

The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of this range, and in certain circumstances, may fall outside the listed hiring range.
Hiring range: $21.50 to $22.50 per hour
