About the Role:U.S. Pipe is seeking an Iron Control Technician to join our team. This person will coordinate and control the flow of molten metal from the Cupola to casting machines of sufficient quality and quantity to sustain planned operations. Responsible for maintaining cupola emissions below environmental standards.Specific Responsibilities:
  • Iron Quality and Control - constant awareness to control iron chemistry and temperature within target standards.
  • Assists with upset conditions with Charging Equipment, Cupola and Emissions System.
  • Must be able to make unsupervised decisions to supply the Casting Department with iron delivery per the cast schedule.
  • Monitor Emissions Systems for desired emissions performance and environmental compliance.
  • Prepares and maintains various forms, records, and reports as required and disseminates them on a timely basis.
  • Lead communications throughout Melting to ensure all above duties are performed.
  • Must be able to multitask and utilize electronic equipment to manage iron chemistries and equipment operation.
  • Must be driven to successfully communicate and conduct a safe work environment and operation.
Qualifications:
  • Have 1-2 years experience in a cupola melting department.
  • High School education or equivalent preferred with specialized training in the areas of data processing and business communications.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and leadership attributes.
