- Fabricate and shape structural steel and sheet metal, following blueprints and engineering specifications.
- Interpret architectural plans to accurately execute steel installation, reinforcing concrete, and erecting steel frames.
- Utilize welding and cutting techniques to create, modify, and repair metal components.
- Direct crane operations to facilitate the movement of steel materials around construction sites.
- Ensure the alignment and precision of steel columns, beams, and girders during installation.
- Secure steel bars to reinforce concrete structures, contributing to overall stability.
- Collaborate with the team to find innovative solutions for construction challenges.
- Inspect and assess older metal infrastructure for repair and restoration.
- Apply plumb bobs, laser equipment, and other tools to ensure accurate alignment.
- Safeguard adherence to safety protocols throughout the construction process.
- Assist in the installation of finishing components, including stairs, handrails, and curtain walls.
- Thoroughly check completed work for quality, making necessary adjustments.
RequirementsEssential Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Iron Worker or in a related role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Strong welding, cutting, and metal fabrication skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in construction environments.
- Ability to operate cranes and direct crane operations safely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Relevant certifications in welding or ironworking are advantageous.
