Qualifications:
Preferred OSHA 10 certification
High School Diploma / GED
3-5 years' experience using torches, shears and rebar bending equipment
Preferred ability to read blueprints
Preferred ability of basic welding skills
Must have physical capabilities of lifting weights of over 50lbs for long periods of time
Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions
Must have good mental stamina to push through fatigue and muscle soreness at times.
Must be able to climb and work at heights over 100'
Must have a Safety Conscience / Safety Attitude when working in and around your area
Job Summary:
* Build and install iron or steel girders, columns, and other construction materials to form buildings, bridges, and other structures. Cut, position, and bold down steel bars to reinforce concrete.
* Erect steel frames. Number steel according to assembly instructions.
* Drill holes into steel for bolts. Bolt or weld pieces in place. Set reinforcing bars into forms to hold concrete. Tighten cables with jacking equipment.
* Work with driftpins to align holes in the steel with holes in the framework. Install stairs, handrails, or curtain walls.
