Description: An IT Application Engineer job is currently available at Belcan in Evendale, OH 45215. This is a full time, direct hire position with full benefits. To be considered for this role, you must be a US citizen, and must possess an Active Secret security clearance or be willing to obtain one. Additionally, you must hold an active CompTIA Security+ certification or be willing to obtain one.
Ideal candidates will have proven experience as an application administrator, architect, or engineer. They will also have experience with networking connectivity, and multiple operating systems and platforms. An analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail is very important for clean deployments of applications into the production environments.
Job Duties:
* Understand client requirements and how they translate in software application features
* Collaborate with a team of IT professionals, customers, and security teams to set specifications for new software applications.
* Design and test creative prototypes according to specifications and as needed
* Write high quality procedures to ensure complete installation and verification of new application/software requests.
* Work with both multiple teams to validate network and integration compliance, configuration and installation approach before launch
* Support QA teams in conducting functional and non-functional testing
* Troubleshoot and validate new software applications
* Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features
* Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent software application design
Required Qualifications:
* Must be US person and have (or be eligible to obtain) a DoD Secret security clearance, with investigation date within the last five years and IA certifications at or above the level of Security+
* Proven experience as application administrator, architect, or engineer
* Experience in designing and building applications
* Excellent understanding of software design and principles
* A team player with excellent communication skills
* Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
* Great attention to detail and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
* BSc/BA in computer science or relevant field; MSc/MA will be appreciated.
* Certified application of any discipline is a plus
* In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools

This position is offering a salary rate of $80,000-$100,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
