Salary : $57,860.00 - $76,688.00 AnnuallyLocation : Sheboygan, WIJob Type: Full TimeJob Number: 2024-170Department: Information TechnologyOpening Date: 12/17/2024Purpose and Summary The Business Analyst position will participate in software implementation projects by identifying all departmental needs, developing project requirements, assisting in the software implementation and data migration, providing training materials and tutorials, documenting the current and new processes. In addition, the business analyst will evaluate identified processes of issue, and participate in initiatives to create new, more efficient processes. Essential Duties
  • Business Analyst will apply their expertise to identify, develop and implement techniques to improve productivity.
  • Responsible for increasing efficiencies, mitigating risks and resolving issues in a timely cost saving manner.
  • Business Analyst will meet with project stakeholders to determine project requirements based on business needs.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to understand and improve business processes based on standard best practices.
  • Communicate requirements and issues effectively to the technical team and software vendors to solve issues in a timely manner.
  • Work with departments to construct operating procedures for newly re-engineered processes and assist with implementation of new processes.
  • Create user tutorials and training materials for business process improvement projects to provide continued user education on best practices and proper use of software systems.
  • Identify and document system integration opportunities between County enterprise software systems and third-party systems to eliminate redundant data entry and streamline internal processes.
  • Work with employees and IT staff on mapping and documenting data for data migration.
  • Work with departments to gather and document business requirements and develop Request for Proposals for potential software systems.
  • Participate in the design, implementation, and management of new software systems to ensure quality, long-lasting implementations.
  • Work with departments to identify and map inefficient processes, and to re- engineer those processes to promote continual improvement based on standard best practices.
  • Determine objectives by gathering information, studying business functions, evaluating output requirements and formats.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years previous experience as a Business Analyst
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; must be a team player who excels in juggling multiple projects.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, Access, Visio, and other software tools for conducting and preparing analysis.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is critical.
  • Exhibits drive and initiative to learn whatever is necessary to explore new solutions.
  • Self-starter that can work well independently and in a team environment, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize work.
  • Strong customer service, stakeholder relationship and management experience.
  • Excellent follow-through, organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to the changing needs of programs and services.
  • Demonstrated verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting. Ability to frequently lift up to 20 pounds and a combination of sitting and standing postures may be required. Ability to regularly work 8 hour days and 40 hour weeks.
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment including telephone, computer, facsimile, calculator, printer, and photocopier.
  • Risk of blood borne pathogen exposure is considered low.
Working Relationships
  • Reports to the Director of IT. No subordinates.
  • Frequent interactions and communications with employees of other County departments, as well as with vendors, consultants.
