Apex Systems is looking for a Desktop Support Technician to support our large Health Care System client. This is a W2 Contract opportunity and will require 5 days a week on-site in Racho Cordova, CA.
POSITION TITLE: IT Client Services Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Contractor
This position, under general supervision of the IT Client Implementations the Virtualized Client Computer Infrastructure Project Manager and the CS Supervisor will provide support on Technology Projects. Some of the responsibilities include:
- Install/Replacement of thin clients, desktops, laptops, monitors, and peripherals across 100+ physical locations.
- Installation of Windows and Mac operating systems, and application software.
- Install and configure desktops, laptops, and thin clients to specific configurations, and to comply with established security policies.
- Basic troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network connectivity issues using acceptable best practices and provided instructions.
- Project coordination skills and the ability to multitask
- Documenting deployment data and communicating in written and verbal formats to provide project status and updates.
- VDI deployment and configuration: Installing, configuring, and maintaining VDI infrastructure components, including virtualization software, hypervisors, connection brokers, and virtual desktop images.
- User support: Providing technical support to end-users for VDI-related issues, including virtual desktop connectivity, performance problems, application access, and user profile management.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires knowledge and support experience with desktop PC's, laptops, tablets, PC hardware, peripherals, and Windows and Mac operating systems including the following:
- IT background with exposure to clinical workflows and healthcare environments
- The ability to work both independently and within a team setting.
- The ability to provide timely/daily status updates, both written and verbal
- Candidate should be able to follow instructions and quickly adapt to changes in priorities.
- This position requires someone who can work in a busy hospital setting around doctors, nurses, and patients.
- Candidate should be able to lift materials up to 30 lbs. and able to push a dolly or cart loaded with IT equipment.
- Candidate must have a valid and current California driver's license.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products
- Customer service skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills to provide efficient and courteous support to end-users with varying levels of technical expertise.
DUTIES:
- Disconnect old IT equipment and connect new IT equipment and various locations.
- Evaluate technology installations and provide technical reports
- Occasionally lift materials up to 30 lbs.
- Be able to push dolly/carts with equipment loaded
- Work in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions
- Use computer equipment for extended periods
- Be able to work under pressure and follow instructions
- Must have a valid and current California driver's license
