IT Consultant

Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Position Summary:

Top level technical and business expert supporting end user groups. Responsible for most complex systems process analysis, design, and simulation, requiring the highest level understanding of organization's business and clinical systems and industry requirements. Focus is on process analysis and re-engineering, with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment. Improves business processes and supports critical business IT strategic development.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as top level technical and business expert and advisor supporting end user groups.
  • Responsible for most complex business and/or systems process analysis, design, and simulation, requiring the highest level understanding of organization's business systems and industry requirements. A wide degree of creativity, latitude, and accountability is expected.
  • Responsible for process analysis and re-engineering, with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment.
  • Works with user groups to solve business problems with available technology including hardware, software, databases, and peripherals.
  • Requires high level of diverse technical experience related to studying and analyzing systems needs, systems development, systems process analysis, design, and re-engineering.
  • Creates process change by integrating new processes with existing ones and communicating these changes to impacted Business Systems teams.
  • Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts. May lead re-engineering team and act as project manager in some cases.
  • Consults with personnel in other IT sections to coordinate activities
  • Evaluate vendor proposals for purchases of hardware, software, and technical services to assure adherence to technical specifications.
  • Establishes and maintains exemplary communications and working relationships with the other members of the Covenant Health Management team.
  • Formulates business systems architecture plans, estimates costs, and ensures projects meet strategic needs.
  • Responsible for coordinating facility regulatory inspections (like the Joint Commission) from an IT perspective.
Qualifications:

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or information management, or related field or equivalent work experience. Masters degree preferred.

Minimum Experience

Ten (10) years of increasing responsibility in related work experience is required. IT project management experience required. Familiar with a variety of the healthcare fields concepts, practices, and procedures. Experience in healthcare environment required. Have skills and experience related to business management, systems engineering, operations research, and/or management engineering. Keeps abreast of relevant technological developments and applications.
