The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full time Information Technology (IT) Cybersecurity Specialist (GS-2210-12), to perform as a Cyber Warning & Operations Center (CWOC) Watch Officer, working at Headquarters (HQ) NORAD/USNORTHCOM (N&NC), on Peterson Space Force Base (SFB), in Colorado Springs, CO.
Salary ($89,128 - $115,863) based on experience.

Qualifications/Requirements:
In this position you will perform CWOC Watch Officer duties providing a wide range of support to North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), cyber systems and missions through in-depth analysis of information and reporting. Directly supports the Commands missions through monitoring the status and threats to critical mission capabilities to coordinate response to emergent cyber events and incidents. Aggregates, analyzes and communicates operational impacts to leadership to inform the Commander's decision-making cycle.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain & maintain a “Top Secret/SCI” Security clearance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Computer Network Defense Analyst (CND-A) certification within 6-months of assigned duties.
This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position
The incumbent is required to achieve both the foundational and resident qualification requirements outlined for each defense cyber work role at the assigned proficiency levels. Foundational qualification within 9 months of assignment; resident qualification within 12 months of assignment.
Knowledge of cyber capabilities including, but not limited to applications, software concepts, functions, techniques, and mission systems sufficient to provide recommendations on new and emerging cyber security methods, principles, and the feasibility of proposed new capabilities including enterprise tools and applications.
Knowledge of operational activities (e.g. Homeland Defense; Defense Support of Civil Authorities; Cyberspace Operations including Cyber Protection Teams (CPTs) and Combat Mission Teams (CMTs); Integrated Tactical Warning/ Attack Assessment (ITW/AA); Integrated Missile Defense; Mass Migration; Non-Combatant Evacuation; Theater Campaign Plan (TCP); mission systems, and command, control, communications, computers (C4)), mission processes, procedures, systems, and applications.
Knowledge of IT management information systems and applications software technology and the ability to isolate causes of problems between hardware, system, and applications software programs.
Knowledge of and skill in applying methods, tools, and procedures, including development of information security plans, to prevent information system vulnerabilities, and provide or restore security of information systems and network services and develop or recommend appropriate mitigation countermeasures.
Knowledge of IT INFOSEC security requirements for certification and accreditation, network operations and protocols, systems testing and evaluation, and performance management methods sufficient to plan and conduct security accreditation reviews for installed systems or networks and assess and advise on new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of accreditation reviews.
Knowledge of a broad range of telecommunications concepts and principles, operating modes, systems, media, equipment, and related software systems, processes and procedures to assess and advise on vulnerability to attach from a variety of sources (e.g. espionage, disruption of services, destructive programs/applications) and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications.
