Apex Systems, a World-Class Technology Solutions Provider, is seeking applicants for the IT Data Center Technician position on behalf of our client. The team needs someone who has experience installing in maintaining network and IT equipment in a data center. Please apply if interested and qualified. Position: IT Data Center Technician

Contract Rate: 40-50/hr on W2

Length: Ongoing Rolling Contract

Location: onsite 5 days a week in Miami

Project Details:

This person will be involved in the support of onsite data centers by deploying, installing, and troubleshooting technical IT equipment within the Data Center – network devices like routers, switches, cables, servers, etc.

Day to Day:

Documentation and deployment of the circuits – extends, installs the circuits, installs mini satellite stations, troubleshooting. Understanding routers and switches, making sure the devices are properly installed and working. This employee won't be configuring the devices but they will need to know if its installed and set up properly so they can provide insight if needed.

Travel: This person will be required to travel to the data centers. You will be traveling both nationally (once a quarter to Dallas) and internationally (once a quarter to any of the following locations - Singapore, Sydney, London, Frankfort, Netherlands, Honduras, DR, Bahamas.

MUST HAVES:

  • 3+ years of Data Center experience
  • Must have data center hardware deployment and installation experience
  • Networking experience including installation and troubleshooting – Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.
  • Must be willing to travel nationally and internationally

Job Description:

The Data Center Technician is responsible for maintaining IT operations within the data center and documentation for shoreside IT facilities. This position is also responsible for all physical installations within our data centers, hub sites, land-based offices, seaports, and terminals. This person is responsible for maintaining and operating data center locations at peak performance. This role will support cross-departmental collaboration and internal communications with staff throughout the organization and service providers while promoting a positive work environment that supports consistency and drives efficiencies.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare plans for development and installation of data center infrastructure according to present and future requirements.
  • Ensure the completion of Facility infrastructure equipment installations within the agreed SLA timeframe and to applicable internal, manufacture and industry standards Drive toolsets evaluation and integration.
  • Monitor data center critical infrastructure 24X7, manage upgrade projects and third-party vendor relationships, and coordinate repairs and maintenance
  • Ensure all deployments are installed to applicable internal, manufacture and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot data center equipment, identify issues, and assist in timely resolution.
  • Willingness to pack, stage, and provide logistical organization for equipment shipping to port locations
