prosource.it is a global IT Managed Service provider working with Medium to Enterprise level, global clients and looking for an IT Desktop Support Technician to assists in a short-term project. ENGAGEMENT:•1099 (contractor) position•Forecasted to last 8 weekso May extendo May be opportunities for more permanent work (W2 salary role)•Work to be performed onsite, no hybrid or remote opportunities•$30-$40 per hour depending on experience o Minimum of 40 hours per weekOVERVIEW:We are looking to hire a skilled IT Desktop Support Engineer to assist in a short-term project. In addition to IT support activities, one of the major requirements will be to work with our remote Network subject matter expert (SME) to assist with the upgrade of aging network equipment. RequirementsAn effective Desktop Support Specialist must be great at communicating with customers in person and over the phone. They should also have empathy, patience, and possess the skill to understand and resolve the customer's problem.Customer service is a key component of success. As is critical thinking, and strong proactive problem-solving abilities. RESPONSIBILITIES:•Hands and eyes assist for our remote network subject matter expert (SME)o Locate old networking equipment, document, and removeo Setup new equipment to allow the Network SME to configureo Install new network equipment in place of old•Effectively track and communicate progress to IT manager •Diagnose and resolve IT incidents. Some examples include:o Printer related issueso Connectivityo Software related issueso Operating system•Installation of peripheral components •AV/VC configuration and problem resolution•Installation of software packages and minor remediation •Escalation to appropriate party where appropriateo Ownership of issueTHE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: •1-5+ years of IT Desktop Support experience •BSc in Computer Science or relevant field•Strong communications skills•Highly customer focused•Highly motivated, self-reliant, problem solver•Enthusiastic with a questioning and challenging attitude•Strong problem-solving abilities •Ability to make rational decisions under pressure•Proven ability to work within a teamBENEFICIAL BUT NOT REQUIRED•Hardware/software roll outs•Executive level IT support•Networking experience •Previously worked within hazardous environmentso Refineryo Chemical plantsENGAGEMENT DETAILSLocation: Decatur Alabama Hours: 40 hours per weekModel: Onsite Start Date: 6th January 2025Engagement: 1099Pay Rate: $30-$40 per hour depending on experience (1099)Benefitsthis position is a 1099 opportunity and not eligible for benefits.
