Position IT Desktop Technician Location Beaufort Memorial Hospital Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Shift Various Shifts Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt Description The IT Technician is responsible for installation and problem resolution for all IT related hardware, software, and applications for hospital departments. Technician will assist in configuration of desktops, laptops and peripherals, coordinate IT related issues concerning infrastructure, applications, and business critical systems to the appropriate resolution team(s), assist in resolving connectivity issues, and diagnosing and resolving printing and scanning issues. Routine work also includes working with contracted vendors in installing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware and software (such as routers, wireless access points and digital switches). Performs other activities as required and appropriate. Position RequirementsEDUCATION: Associates or Bachelors Degree in technology or related field preferred. EXPERIENCE:
  • Any amount of education and experience that equates to 2 years of verifiable experience in IT/IS problem resolution to include hardware and Microsoft software applications.
  • Appropriate experience will be accepted in lieu of Associates or Bachelors degrees.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic computer hardware, printer and Microsoft office software problems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Understanding of Microsoft Windows desktop and server technologies
  • Functional knowledge of networking equipment (voice and data networks)
  • Ability to commute on short notice to remote hospital practice locations as directed
  • Availability to address IT/IS related problems after normal business hours as scheduled
