Essential Duties and Responsibilities NOTE: Employee may be required to respond to a disaster, either natural or man-made, to serve the citizens of Statesville. Service to the citizens during a disaster may result in the assignment of other duties, which will take precedence over duties described in this job description. - Assists with the installation of IT infrastructure including Streaming and Broadcast equipment.
- Installs and configures end user hardware and related software.
- IT Inventory Management including annual workstation rollouts and equipment surplus.
- Upgrades systems with new releases and models.
- Monitors system performance and troubleshoots issues.
- Troubleshoots and repairs low voltage cabling and VOIP devices.
- Installs and maintains Wireless Access Points and related hardware.
- Monitors security according to requirements.
- Assists with Helpdesk tasks as assigned including onsite support.
- Assists with training staff on new and current technologies.
- Supports Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements Education and/or Experience
- Associate's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field and
- Four (4) years of experience as an IT Field Technician, or similar role.
Supplemental Information Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of operations, capabilities, and maintenance of hardware and software applications.
- Working knowledge of security technologies including firewall, internet, A/V, Malware, SSL certificates, and email.
- Ability to work with patch panels, low voltage cabling, and other related hardware.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize tasks.
- Ability to collaborate with a team and utilize project workflow.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, department heads, users, external agencies, and vendors.
- Excellent customer service skills.
