IT Help Desk Technician

Provides technical support to end users. Installs and maintains the organization's client hardware to include printers and software. Troubleshoot problems and resolve them in a timely manner. Approach each help desk call in a professional manner, building relationships that promote information sharing rather than mutual frustration. Use communication skills to pull enough information from end users to determine specifically what's wrong and to explain what's needed or how to use systems in nontechnical terms.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, responding to help desk requests and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues in a timely and efficient manner.

* Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software applications, ensuring they meet organizational standards and user requirements.

* Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, backups, and security patches, to ensure the stability and security of IT systems and data.

* Coordinate own assignment of tickets and escalate tickets with all information to intended support team members.

* Collaborate with IT team members and vendors to resolve complex technical issues and implement solutions that align with organizational goals and objectives.

* Assist in the implementation and administration of IT policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

* Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT-related topics, including software applications, security protocols, and best practices for data management and protection.

* Conduct onboarding and offboarding tasks to follow the business policies.

Qualifications

* Associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field; relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) are a plus.

* Proven experience in IT support or a similar role, with a strong understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking fundamentals.

* Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and macOS, as well as common business applications and productivity tools.

* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with users at all levels of the organization and provide exceptional customer service.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

* Demonstrated ability to do excessive walking, standing, bending, and stooping.

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or control, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

* The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, kneel, and crouch.

* The employee may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (50-90 pounds).

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

* This is a full-time hourly (non-exempt) position. Company IT Support Coverage ranges Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm EST. May be required to work beyond their set schedule due to business needs and expectations under supervisor approval.

TRAVEL:

* Onsite 95%

* Some travel to nearby locations maybe required 4%.

* At times may need to travel out of state to backfill support 1%

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

* Healthcare Physician Systems IT Support experience preferable
