Responsible for the overall design, operation, and health of the corporate, retail and distribution center networks. This position will provide supervision of network engineers, network architects and any outside contractors or vendors necessary to facilitate the growth and management of the network infrastructure. Maintains current working knowledge of industry solutions relative to enterprise-level network. Leads all department projects from design through implementation phase. Participates as a leading member of the IT Architecture Committee. Operationalizes the network through high-level and detailed documentation, including architectural and procedural documents. Provides top-level technical insight and solution support. Provides direct support for departmental leadership activities. Provide systems expertise and technical support requiring in-depth understanding in a breadth of technologies and disciplines. Coordinates and manages team activities, including call rotation, performance reviews, and budget management.

Job Details

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Provide leadership to top-level (L2) technical support and engineering team, plus onsite and offshore contract labor.

* Manage the implementation and delivery of technical support for a variety of networking and related infrastructure systems including routers, firewalls, wireless solutions, multicast solutions, WAN technologies, etc., always with the design and mindset of protecting these IT assets from unauthorized access.

* Manage in-scope networks and systems in accordance with the formal change management procedures and processes.

* Manage budgeting and procurement processes for Network Services department.

* Provide timely status reports regarding projects and activities.

* Coordinate, communicate, and document the architectural designs and of the company's global network infrastructure, including corporate, retail, and remote infrastructure.

* Participate as a member of the IT Architecture Committee to help design scalable, enterprise-level solutions for networks, operating systems, databases, and applications.

* Provide direct support for and communication of departmental and overall IT leadership activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Expert-level understanding of network architecture and solutions, with a focus on Cisco solutions

* Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting networks in large enterprise-sized organizations

* Very strong written and oral communication skills

* Experience designing and supporting Voice over IP (VOIP) solutions

* Expertise with a breadth of network technologies, including routers, firewalls, wireless solutions, multicast solutions, WAN technologies, etc

* Ability to work and effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences

* Ability to maintain current working knowledge of related hardware, software, solutions, and processes

* Experience participating in large, complex projects

* Experience with overseeing team and project budgeting and procurement processes

* Experience managing third parties (contractors/consultants)

* Experience with coordinating internal and external auditing efforts in order to meet compliance requirements for network security related procedures, processes and activities

* Ability to function as the highest point of escalation for network-related issues

* Able to manage peer relationship and remain customer-service focused

* Ability to provide daily supervision, development, and direction to network engineers and architects

Qualifications

Work Experience &/or Education:

* Seven to 10 years of IT experience is required

* Three to five years of experience architecting and engineering enterprise-level network infrastructure is required

* Extensive knowledge and experience with designing, implementing, and supporting technical solutions is required

* Three to five years of experience participating in formal IT projects is required

* Three to five years of experience managing technical teams at an enterprise-level organization strongly preferred

* Bachelor's degree or higher strongly preferred

* Cisco CCIE certification strongly preferred
