In this role under general supervision, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and support a variety of IP based systems and equipment for assigned electronic security or building automation projects including routine projects. You will work directly with client IT departments to ensure all scope and interface is planned and implemented and provide IT/networking consulting support for clients as necessary. You will drive to local customer sites on most days, either in your choice of a company provided vehicle or your own vehicle Most clients will be in driving distance so you will sleep in your own bed on most nights, spending about 10% or less in hotel rooms when a client is a little further away.They do have an on-call rotation you will need to work for a week once every 5-6 weeks, each time you do this you get a minimum of 4 hours added to your time sheet whether you go out to a job or not that week and get paid for any hours you work on top of this.They need someone who can monitor the network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability on assigned projects. You will also monitor and review system log reports, physical and logical topologies/diagrams, and IT planning documentation.You will assist this company's Project Specialists with IT & electronic security technical issues on projects and assists Service Specialists with IT service calls.They will teach you the access control and electronic security systems portion of their business but if you have any experience in this, let them know. What they need is someone with a broad range of IT and computer system experience, with strong server and networking deployment experience.At times you may be responsible for building, maintaining, and providing security on routers, switches, firewalls, servers, appliances, and various other networked devices. You will execute many of the technical aspects of multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets including, programming, system design, installation, systems integration, customer training, close-out documentation, and on-going service & support, and so on.You will always act as the customer's best service provider, thereby ensuring this company is the customer's first choice for service.They are looking for candidates who have the aptitude to learn how to program their systems and the skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems with them and look for solutions. On top of strong IT experience, you will need to have strong communication skills and an exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure and can maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.You will need to show you are a self-starter and can work well without supervision. You will also need strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills along with solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.$29 - $35/hour DOE + some overtime.
