Job Description:
Responsibilities The IT Network Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting and optimizing Norton Healthcare's technical infrastructure and will seek improvements on a continuous basis, utilizing Norton Healthcare's technology standards including security, hardware, software, databases, desktop, network, server, storage and peripherals. The IT Network Systems Engineer will be considered the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in either Wireless, Data Center Networking, or Campus Routing & Switching, and having responsibility for this technology component in the Norton Enterprise. The IT Network Systems Engineer will also provide reports on the overall status and health of the specific network technologies, enabling leadership to make data-driven decisions regarding the infrastructure. The Network Engineer plays a critical role in our organization's IT department, with the primary responsibility for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our networking infrastructure. This role demands a deep understanding of network technologies, systems security, and the latest industry trends to ensure our network infrastructure supports the organization's goals and objectives effectively and securely.
  • Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of the current Cisco & Aruba networks.
  • Install, configure, and support network equipment including Cisco routers, Aruba switches, Nexus datacenter spine/leaf architecture, and Aruba Wireless.
  • Formalize and maintain configuration standards to maximize network efficiency, reliability, availability, and security for all networks.
  • Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting using Aruba Airwave, OPManager, DynaTrace & other networking monitoring tools.
  • Coordinate planned upgrades and maintenance to ensure minimal disruption to others' productivity.
  • Document network topology and develop comprehensive reports pertaining to network configuration, issues, and solutions, for both technical staff and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical direction to IT support staff.
  • Be highly skilled in the use of troubleshooting tools, network design and documentation (including drawings), implementation of new or refreshed networks, maintain medium to large layer 2/layer 3 networks.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, and FortiNet.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, and secure authentication mechanisms like 802.1x.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues
**This position has the opportunity to work from home. You may be asked to complete training at a Norton Healthcare facility or be able to come to a Norton Healthcare facility for business purposes. Employees in this role must reside in Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina** QualificationsRequired:
  • With Bachelor's degree: 7 years of experience in Information Technology
  • Without Bachelor's degree: 10 years of experience in Information Technology
