Job Description

Our client, a retail chain of home improvement and agriculture stores, is seeking an IT OMS Team Lead for a 12+ month contract position in Brentwood, TN. This role is hybrid.Job SummaryThis position is responsible for a team that creates, designs, and supports order management and call center software used to serve our client's website and their customer service center. This includes gathering requirements, developing prototypes, and assisting in setting the project scope. Additional responsibilities include directing technical work, leading projects, mentoring team members, and managing direct reports.

  • Supervise and direct work of individuals within the team.
  • Meet with technical leads, architects and vendor partners to determine project scope and vision, set system goals, identify and resolve system issues, ensure the system is implemented as designed and in adherence to the implementation guidelines.
  • Act as the technical liaison with business users and other Information Technology (IT) teams.
  • Hire, develop, and motivate assigned staff.
  • Partner with the business analysts to review and refine business requirements into core system capabilities.
  • Assist developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and validating solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Participate and make recommendations on the technical and functional direction of their domain.
  • Work with Enterprise teams to ensure changes are properly documented, communicated, audited, and deployed in compliance with established procedures.
  • Provide rotational on-call technical support to solve business problems and document resolution.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • High Demand IT Specialized skills: Platform knowledge (Linux, Unix, Sun, Windows NT, XP, Open Step)
  • 10 years of experience with Java, Java Platform Enterprise Edition (JEE) technologies, and Oracle (such as structured query language (SQL) and PL/SQL).
  • Advanced experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology.
Other knowledge, skills or abilities
  • Advanced functional knowledge of Sterling Order Management suite of applications including the Sterling Call Center Application and relational databases.
  • Advanced knowledge of relational databases, Unix, integration, Java frameworks, performance tuning, and related tools is preferred.
  • Ability to provide functional leadership of the order management suite of applications including legacy applications, 3rd party and enterprise resource planning (ERP) integrations.
  • Ability to manage business partner relationships by communicating Omni-Channel architecture standards and frameworks, answering questions, and resolving concerns/issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of Extensible Markup Languages (XML) technologies: XML, Schemas, Simple application program interface for XML (SAX), Document Object Model (DOM), Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT).
  • Advanced knowledge of continuous integration concepts and tools is preferred.
  • Competence in strategic thinking and leadership.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload prioritization in order to deliver high quality work products on time and with minimal direction.
  • Advanced communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to move beyond proven problem-solving approaches to formulate solutions.
Pluses:
  • 7 or more years of experience with Sterling Commerce/IBM Selling and Fulfillment Suite.
  • Experience leading a team, including a day-to-day management of resources.
  • Retail experience.

Pay Rate: $100.00-$103.57/hour
