Job Description
Infosys is seeking a IT On-Site Support Technician: This position's primary responsibility is to lead hands and feet support services for desktop and server environments in our data center. The role requires in-depth technical knowledge to ensure operational excellence and timely resolution of on-site issues.
Role Designation :Technology Analyst
Required Qualifications:
* Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Brentwood TN or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in the US
* Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education
* At least 2 years of Information Technology experience
* At least 6 years of experience in desktop and server support, preferably in a data center environment.
* Hands-on expertise in supporting physical and virtual server infrastructure.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting server hardware (Dell, HP, etc.) and desktop systems.
* Familiarity with networking equipment, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
* Experience with cabling standards, rack management, and data center operations.
* Provide hands-on support for desktops, servers, and network devices within the data center.
* Oversee hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for servers and desktops.
* Manage physical cable patching, hardware replacements, and system upgrades.
* Perform routine server maintenance and health checks to ensure optimal performance.
* Respond to and resolve on-site hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
* Collaborate with remote teams for system configuration, testing, and diagnostics.
* Maintain detailed documentation of physical assets, configurations, and repair activities.
* Ensure adherence to data center safety, security, and compliance protocols.
* Good knowledge on ITSM process
* Ability to work with OEM support team
* Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization technologies.

Preferred Skills:
* Certifications in hardware or server technologies (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft).
* Experience in managing hands-on support in large-scale data centers.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and communication skills.
* Familiarity with ITIL processes and data center best practices.
* Planning and Co-ordination skills
* Experience and desire to work in a management consulting environment that requires regular travel.
The job entails an extensive amount of travel. The job also entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face.
