The IT Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure within our firm, ensuring that all technology networks, systems, and services are reliable, efficient, secure, and aligned with the firm's goals. This role involves providing guidance and training to network and application engineers, managing assigned projects, and leading efforts in technology adoption and usage across the firm.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the firm's IT infrastructure, including access control, hardware, software, cloud services, storage, and connectivity, ensuring reliable and secure operations to all network and end user devices. Monitor and optimize system and network performance, administer LAN/WAN systems, handling escalated technical issues, and implementing necessary upgrades and updates.
- Train, and mentor IT members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team, and provide technical support to Engineering and Customer Support personnel.
- Lead IT infrastructure projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations, while coordinating with other departments to drive continuous improvement in IT processes.
- Implement and oversee cybersecurity measures, compliance with data privacy regulations, and perform regular security audits and risk mitigation efforts.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, including procedures, reports, and system-level documentation, to support IT operations and compliance.
- Collaborate with vendor relationships, confirming service delivery quality, while evaluating and recommending improvements to network hardware and software.
- Assist in developing and managing the IT budget, researching and forecasting technology needs to ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Design and maintain disaster recovery plans, conduct regular testing, and manage emergency responses to ensure business continuity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related fields required. Professional Certifications are a plus.
- 6+ years of proven experience within IT operations management, ideally in a law firm or professional services setting.
- 2+ years of prior supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, data center management, network administration and cloud computing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Experience with legal technology cloud services, such as document management systems, case management software, and e-discovery tools, is highly desirable.
- Client service driven with a solution driven mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, budgets, and vendor relationships effectively.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and relevant legal compliance requirements.
