About the Opportunity Join world-class experts in finding answers to our customers' toughest questions as an IT Technologist at Ocean Optics; you will play a central role in the architecture, deployment, and ongoing management of our comprehensive IT infrastructure. Your expertise will be pivotal in transforming our IT landscape across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid systems, leveraging the latest technologies to enhance our operational efficiency and security posture. Location Rochester, NY or Orlando, FL Through a natural curiosity and passion for servicing our customers, the successful candidate will:
  • Design and implement robust IT solutions across multiple platforms including on-premises, cloud (SaaS, HaaS, IaaS), and hybrid environments, ensuring they meet our rigorous standards for security and reliability.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for IT infrastructure, providing advanced support and guidance on complex issues escalated from the Technical Support team.
  • Collaborate with senior IT leaders to align technology deployments with organizational strategies, enhancing service delivery across global offices.
  • Proactively manage and maintain network appliances, server infrastructures, and data storage solutions, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Lead the development and testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, performing regular drills to guarantee readiness.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of our IT architecture and modifications, supporting consistent standards and knowledge sharing within the IT department.
  • Serve as a key escalation point for high-level technical support, offering mentorship and troubleshooting expertise to IT staff.
  • Engage with IT vendors to ensure service excellence and compliance with our technical and security specifications.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and technological advancements, recommending and implementing tools and technologies that drive efficiency and competitive advantage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
About the Candidate Our ideal candidate will bring a wealth of broad IT experience and should possess:
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Brings a strong background in managing enterprise IT environments, with expertise in Microsoft ERP systems, including D365 and a solid understanding of network configurations including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, SD-WAN, and more.
  • Possesses certifications such as A+, MCSE, CCNA, CISSP, or VCP, or has professional experience that demonstrates equivalent knowledge and skills.
  • Exhibits strategic thinking with meticulous attention to detail and a relentless pursuit of excellence in IT service delivery.
  • Some lifting required of up to 20 lbs
