Responsibilities:
  • Works under moderate supervision to deliver testing solutions utilizing automation, performance, or manual testing techniques on software program and/or application assignments typically of medium complexity.
  • Utilizes standard processes to enable testing automation or performance testing for software programs and applications, using the automate first mentality (yet understanding when manual testing is a better approach).
  • Translates business and system requirements into technical requirements for the proposed solution.
  • Participates and engages in quality planning, quality design and execution. Plans for and executes the proper mix of manual, automated and exploratory testing methods.
  • Identifies quality issues and risks and works with team members to resolve.
  • Adheres to automation governance processes.
  • Adheres to agile methodology by contributing to team estimation, story card details, acceptance criteria definition and test approach and retrospectives. Within the agile team primarily focuses on testing concepts and discipline.
  • Performs testing tool support, maintenance, administration, and process improvement.
  • Implements changes, resolves incidents, and satisfies service requests for testing tools.
  • Builds and strengthens relationship with product team(s) members and pair programming with software developers to gain an understanding of the code being delivered.
  • Works to increase their understanding of automation, performance and testing best practices as well as assisting less experienced team members.
  • Participates and provides input to strategic direction of automation, performance and testing disciplines and process improvements.
  • Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant domain experience, technology, tools, processes, and related best practices.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of automation and manual testing experience OR 3+ years application programming and/or coding experience.
  • Experience with testing Sitecore, Outsystems and/or Mulesoft applications preferred.
  • Experience in UI (User Interface) Automation and API (Application Programming Interface) Automation testing using Postman, Visual Studio, Tosca, LoadRunner, and related tools.
  • Experience in Claims Guidewire is beneficial.
  • Experience quickly learning and implementing new technologies, understanding system integrations, web services, and corresponding data flows.
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge and/or experience with various core systems (e.g. policy processing systems, claims systems, distribution management systems, billing systems, ERP systems), office and computer equipment, and software packages (e.g., JIRA, ALM, Tosca, LoadRunner, Cognos, Tableau, DB Visualizer).
  • Working knowledge of testing best practices gained through previous work experiences including defect reporting tools, project management tools, data analytical tools, automation tools, etc.
  • Experience multi-tasking and prioritizing previous work assignments to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Experience analyzing problems and developing strategies for resolution gained through previous work assignments.
  • Experience writing entry level SQL.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical (e.g. computer science, information systems, engineering) field or commensurate experience.
  • Physical essential functions: ability to work 40 hours in an office environment (sitting, standing, on a computer, etc.), operate office related technology (computer, phone, etc.), travel as required.
