About the role: The Data Solutions Architect will lead designing and optimizing of the data ecosystem at Premise Health. This will include source data discovery, data modeling, data pipelines, data lakes, data analysis, data visualization and others. The Architect will work closely with leadership and is responsible for defining and refining the overall solution to support the organization's strategy and objectives. The Architect will collaborate with internal clients, stakeholders, and technical teams to design and implement scalable, flexible, and efficient solutions.
Essential Functions:
- Leads as a strategic Data Domain Architect, adept at assessing overarching problem statements and aligning solutions with business needs.
- Supports the desired outcomes of problem statements, develop comprehensive scope and requirements, devise detailed strategies, and guide teams towards successful outcomes.
- Develops and executes the architecture visions, roadmaps, and principles that align with organizational strategy and governance, collaborating closely with Enterprise Architecture, Security Architecture, and Data Architecture teams as necessary.
- Collaborates closely with the Leadership to craft and evolve roadmaps that drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Fosters effective cross-functional collaboration, engaging subject matter experts (SMEs) appropriately to contribute to solution development.
- Partner with other Engineering and Platform teams to architect and rapidly iterate on designs, patterns, or changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes.
- Leverages expertise and industry best practices in Data Architecture, Governance, and Implementations to deliver substantial business value, particularly within the context of a data architecture program.
- Continues to review/refine solution throughout the implementation and support updates to roadmap
- Acts as the subject matter expert on solution and supporting both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Defines technical capabilities required to realize business capabilities across multiple business domains, defines architecture for those technical capabilities, and a road map for implementation.
- Champion data security principles and ensure appropriate security practices are embedded in any data/analytics strategy or effort.
- Identifies new technologies, based on gaps in required data related capabilities.
- Creates and maintains extensive documentation for all aspects of the data ecosystem, including data architecture frameworks, standards, principles, etc.
- Advise and mentor engineers and technologists on Data Architecture and Data Science practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Build upon our established environment, refining and optimizing the existing architecture to ensure scalability, performance, and cost effectiveness.
- Assess the current data platform and implement best practices to improve data processing performance and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's in engineering, computer science, data science, or other related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years of experience in architecture/design in relevant technology disciplines; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- 10 years of experience in information technologies and 6 years of experience in health care industry preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of leading data technologies such as MESH
- Expertise in at least one architectural framework, such as TOGAF, OOAD, Zackman, FEAF, or others
- Detailed understanding of a wide variety of IT Solutions and associated industry best practices.
- Knowledge of data integration tools (ETL, ELT)
- Skilled in cloud computing platforms such as Azure
- General understanding of all areas of IT
- Comfortable operating in waterfall and iterative development lifecycles.
- Understanding of business processes and data requirements
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Proficient in establish a rapport and trust with IT teams, executives and business partners
- Strong written and communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of staff both internal and external to the organization
- Creative, out-of-the-box thinker who is willing to take innovative risks while balancing the road map for on-time deliverables
- Demonstrated ability to fully support multiple diverse, simultaneous projects of various complexities with overlapping deadlines
- Expertise with enterprise relational DBMS (Oracle, Postgres, MS SQL, etc.) and non-relational DBMS (GraphDB, Cassandra , MongoDB, etc.)
- Expertise in enterprise software development, including detailed understanding of modern CI/CD pipelines and the associated tools
- Expertise in one or more related programming languages, such as Python, R, and Java, as well as SQL
- Knowledge of various Data Architecture patterns including ODS, Data Lake, Data Warehousing, OLTP, Data Vault and OLAP
- Highly knowledgeable about relevant Data Management & Governance topics including: Data Glossaries, Taxonomy management, Data Cataloguing, Data Lineage, Data Quality or Automated Data Discovery – demonstrable practical experience in as many as possible
- Strong knowledge of data security, privacy, and compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.)
- Familiarity with AI technologies and best practices

While a number of factors influence salary, our estimated California, Colorado, Washington, and New York compensation is $90,000 - $135,000.
