Summary You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the Information Systems Department, Administration Directorate of NAVMEDREADLOGCMD. Responsibilities You will serve as local site administrator for local site systems and servers within Naval Medical Readiness Logistics Command (NMRLC). You will investigate and analyze a variety of unusual problems, questions, or conditions associated with a particular application or specialty area (systems administration). You will initiate resourcefulness in researching and implementing state of the art techniques and technologies in order to develop new and improved methods to cope with particular projects. You will apply DON or DOD policies and data processing standards and technical data knowledge to evaluate alternative approaches to problem solutions. You will ensure that inquiries and problems concerning service are expeditiously resolved. You will perform network administration duties. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience evaluating, installing, maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and testing enterprise services and end-user/mobile devices. Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides and servicing Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN). Experience with Citrix policies and network monitoring tools. Experience developing standard operating procedures and managing ticketing systems effectively.
