Job Description:
IT Support consultant Township of Bloomfield, NJ - Onsite Roles and Responsibilities.
  • The Information Technology Consulting Services shall include but not be limited to General IT consultation and shall provision the following services for all Township offices in support of and under the direction of the Township IT Department Director:
  • A. File Server Management:
  • Daily remote/online real-time monitoring of critical functions.
  • As requested or scheduled on-site and unlimited remote support.
  • Complete service pack monitoring and patch updates regularly.
  • Review all ancillary programs, including but not limited to firewalls, data backups,
  • Endpoint protection programs for updates, etc., and perform system maintenance
  • Perform data backup across all servers, critical PCs, and applications.
  • B. Workstation Management:
  • As requested or scheduled on-site and unlimited remote support.
  • Complete patch management monitoring, support, and updates regularly.
  • Maintain properly functioning configurations of critical workstations.
  • C. General Consulting/IT services:
  • General IT services include all servers, workstations, printers, network device consultation, configuration and installation, software updates, network troubleshooting, firewall adjustments, email troubleshooting, and hardware troubleshooting. This includes appearing in cross department planning meetings as requested by the Township IT Department Director. Providing onsite qualified IT personnel, no less than 16 hours per month or as required and agreed upon by the Township IT Director. Monthly report of services performed.
  • D. Network Status:
  • All hardware and software programs must be proactively reviewed and updated to protect all Township network nodes. Provision of proactive reviews of hardware, software, and services for network traffic, restricted sites, and user practice to prevent cyber-attacks and incidents and provide recommendations.
  • The applicant/ proposer must have demonstrated successful experience in supporting the Edmunds finance and tax applications and other municipal-based computer software applications, as appropriate.
  • E. Planning:
  • Assist with developing a complete IT Department assessment comprehensive plan.
  • Assist in quarterly reviewing Cyber Security Roadmap (CSR). Shall be the point of contact for all disaster recovery and cybersecurity incident responses. Perform at least two yearly disaster recovery simulations and provide documentation and results.
  • F. Anticipated Special Project:
  • One domain Microsoft Intune Implementation, two separate network SIEM integration, two separate domain Proofpoint Spam Filter integration, Migration of two domains from. Com to.Gov.
