Position Summary: IT Support Technician is a widely varied task. The best technicians are generalists: They can wire and repair cables, install new software, repair bugs, train users, offer tips for increased productivity across areas from word processing to spreadsheet tools, evaluate new hardware and software, automate a myriad of mundane tasks, and increase work flow at their site. In general, enable people to use computers at a level which gains leverage for the entire organization. Assists in maintenance of computers, servers, printers, printer repairs particularly Dell, and other software installation; Install computer network equipment (Switches and or Routers) as needed.

Education: Two (2) years of college or equivalent post-high-school education or experience in the IT field required; a degree or certificate in computer science or a related field preferred
Experience: Previous experience in customer support, computer operations, system administration or another related area. Motivated to advance in the profession. Is comfortable with aspects of Windows Operation System(s) form Win7-Win10 and administration; for example, configuration of Proprietary Software, System installation and configuration of network printing systems, fundamentals of security, installing third-party software. An Understanding Windows NT, and Knowledge of Sequel Server 2008. Understands inter-process communication, devices and what device drivers do, file/folder system concepts. Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts.) years' experience in some clinical or psychiatric services setting.

Other: Responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of a LAN/WAN network environment able to support multiple protocols and systems throughout the Northlake Behavioral Health System. Involvement with installations, modifications and minor repairs to the microcomputer hardware and software systems and may need to provide technical assistance and training to system users. Must have a good understanding and working knowledge of networking and its related equipment and software, including the configuration and maintenance of file servers and pc's. Possesses a fundamental working knowledge of the operating systems and software currently used in the department and has an ability to work with multiple departments and facilities in providing necessary support and installation of hardware and software standard to the health system. Strong inter-personal and communication skills; capable of writing purchase justifications, training users in complex topics, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with upper management. Independent problem solving; self-direction.
Work Demands/Environment:
Ability to stoop, lift, finger – for example pick, pinch, or type and grasp, ability to clearly and concisely express and exchange ideas via spoken word conveying detailed information to others accurately and on occasion quickly. Ability to perceive the nature of sounds with no less than a 40 db loss @ Hz, 1000 Hz and 2000 Hz with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound. Exerting up to 10 to 1 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Ability to inspect and analyze figures, accounting items, written materials, newsprint, computer terminal characters, transcription and other similar objects at distances generally close to the eyes. This is a minimum standard based on the criteria of accuracy and neatness of work. The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Although inside work is the rule, it is required that the individual be able to travel.
