Summary of Job Duties:
The IT Support Specialist provides computer hardware and software support to the college's faculty and staff. Support includes identifying technology aligned with each employee's work, preparing and maintaining computer systems, responding to technology-related issues, installing software, and overseeing technology in classrooms/computer labs. Additionally, this position will manage and maintain the VALT system used by the College of Education and Health Professions counseling lab, speech and hearing clinic, and Autism clinic. Exemplary customer service is an important function of this position due to the daily one-on-one interactions with staff and faculty.
This position requires the ability to travel across campus to provide on-site technical support to various departments and facilities. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment and performing IT tasks in multiple campus locations, ensuring timely and effective support for faculty, staff, and students.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is required, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Candidates must meet one of the following sets of criteria:
Education and Experience:
* The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer applications, mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education
* At least two years of experience in computer support
OR
Technical Training and Experience:
* Completion of technical training in computer science, data processing, or a related field acquired from a vocational, military, or industrial setting
* At least four years of experience in computer support
OR
High School Diploma and Experience:
* Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent
* At least six years of experience in computer support
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience providing technology support to a group of people with varied technology needs
* Experience managing and maintaining a student-use computer lab
* Experience managing and maintaining classroom technology equipment
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
* Knowledge of the operation of computer hardware and software
* Ability to manage and troubleshoot hardware and software systems used in classroom settings
* Ability to analyze computer systems and software issues and devise corrective measures
* Ability to read and interpret technical literature to evaluate product compatibility
* Ability to write applicable documentation that will be used to guide end users
