Job Description
Position: IT Specialist (Boxford, Middleton and Topsfield)
Education: Associate's Degree in Computer Science (or higher)
Applicable Certifications preferred
Experience: Prefer one year in a computer related environment. Experience in an
educational setting is preferred.
Work Year: Full Time/Full Year
Reports to: Director of Educational Technology; Building Principal
Objectives of Position:
The IT Support Specialist will work collaboratively with other IT technicians, the digital learning specialists, building principals and Director of Educational Technology to support teachers and ensure that technology is working properly. This includes maintaining the technology inventory, assessing needs of the inventory, and supporting staff, students, and families in their technology needs.
The IT Support Specialist must be a self-starter, collaborative, team-oriented, detail-oriented, and possess strong customer-service skills. Additionally, the IT Support Specialist must be an effective written and verbal communicator, and possess effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Must possess the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and multi-task in a fast moving environment.
Responsibilities:
* Provide effective customer service to staff, students, and families.
* Monitor and maintain computer and peripheral equipment.
* Maintain a current and complete inventory of all technology equipment and software.
* Manage all software, web-based licenses, and applications.
* Provide direct customer service to staff in need.
* Identify equipment problems and initiate corrective action.
* Perform repairs and maintenance of technology equipment as needed.
* Maintain records of repair requests and corrective action taken.
* Respond to user entered tickets in a timely manner with customer focused care and attention.
* Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the IT Specialist Manager and/or Director of Educational Technology
Must have experience with the following:
* Familiarity with Networking
* Windows, Mac OS, Chromebook, IPad Knowledge (Client Operating Systems)
* Familiarity with Google Workspace

Physical Requirements:
* Ability to lift 25 lbs.
* Be physically and emotionally capable of carrying-out responsibilities and duties in a busy, digital environment. This position requires sustained physical activity such as sitting at a desk for several hours a day, hand/wrist movement as in writing or using a computer keyboard/mouse. Other activities may include moderate to frequent exertion in body movements such as reaching, bending and twisting.
