The System Administrator's responsibilities include completing repairs and installations, leading IT project implementations, scrutinizing existing processes, writing reports, administering IT systems, and delegating tasks. You should also be able to develop optimization strategies and provide excellent customer service. Essential Functions To be successful as an IT System Administrator, you should keep abreast of developments in your field and have the ability to quickly diagnose tech-related problems. Below is a listing of some of the current job functions. • Analyzing existing computer systems and making recommendations for upgrades and improvements. • Developing and overseeing the installation of systems, which include software and hardware. • Performing tests and troubleshooting, as well as quality assurance. • Implementing safety procedures and data recovery plans. • Developing user manuals, as well as policies, procedures, and safety protocols. • Collaborating with other departments and professionals in the development of IT systems. • Ensuring all installations, maintenance, and upgrades are carried out on schedule and to specifications. • Staying up-to-date with field advancements and ensuring the team receives refresher training as well. • Organize training sessions for staff on the use of new software/ applications and hardware. • Update and preserve computer inventory, disposal, and surplus equipment in coordination with Helpdesk. • Provide technical guidance with the section process of other departmental software purchases and implementations. • Sustain and fix issues on LAN/WAN, VoIP telephone, Server, and other advanced computing equipment. • Preserve passwords, data integrity and file system security for the computing environment. • Oversee, document and manage IT and Banking systems • Assist in testing and deploying new applications and systems. • Maintain an excellent level of customer service, ensuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner. • Maintain outstanding verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate seamlessly with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization. • Resolve issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent solutions. • Accurately record, update, and document requests using the IT ticketing system and any other duties as assigned by the company. • Assist in long term strategic planning of the Bank's technology systems with the Director of IT. • Assist with investigation into Security events and remediation. Requirements • Other duties assigned from time to time by the Director of IT, IT Steering committee or Senior Leadership committee. • Adhere and comply with all bank policies. • Familiar with and abides by all bank regulations including but not limited to GLBA, BSA, and OFAC.
