Job Type Full-time Description Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis LLC (MD&A), one of the largest independent turbine repair organizations in the U.S., is seeking a self-motivated and talented individual to fill the role of IT Systems Administrator. This position is located at our Latham, NY Headquarters. The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for providing highly responsive hardware, software, peripheral and network support across multiple locations in a hybrid Active Directory / Azure Active Directory environment. Reporting to the IT Infrastructure & Security Manager, the Systems Administrator will implement IT systems and provide day to day support of our enterprise-wide production, business continuity, and disaster recovery environments. This role will serve as a final escalation point to the Service Desk and be expected to implement IT systems per specifications set forth by IT department standards and the business needs. This complex environment includes enterprise storage and backup technologies, Microsoft and Linux server architectures; virtualization technology for servers and desktops; datacenter and campus networking; enterprise messaging, collaboration, and Mobile Device Management systems distributed across multiple data centers. Responsibilities:

  • Provide all levels of server, networking, PC & peripheral support.
  • Install, manage, and maintain server hardware and software.
  • Install, manage, and maintain enterprise networking environment.
  • Design and implement new IT Systems solutions using commercially available hardware and software.
  • Utilize management consoles and scripting (when available) to administer, maintain, and upgrade the following systems:
  • Active Directory Domain and Group Policy
  • Microsoft 365/Azure AD
  • Windows Server Clustering
  • Exchange Online Hybrid infrastructure
  • VMware ESXi server farms
  • NetApp Enterprise Storage Systems
  • Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops server farms
  • NetScaler ADC
  • Microsoft SharePoint Online
  • Microsoft Endpoint Manager (SCCM/Intune)
  • Wireless Networking Technologies
    • Manage and Execute hardware and software deployment projects.
    • Maintain accurate hardware/software audit and inventory.
    • Adhere to standard operating procedures and best practices.
    • Create step-by-step user guides and/or instructions as needed.
    • Various other related tasks assigned by the IT Director
    Additional Considerations:
    • After-hours work will be required, where appropriate, to support reduced business hours impact when foundational technology changes occur.
    • Occasional travel will be required to various manufacturing facilities throughout the US.
    • Participate in On-Call rotation as escalation point to Service Desk staff and systems monitoring.
    Requirements
    • 5-7 years' experience in a Systems Administrator or similar role.
    • Demonstrated continued professional growth and development.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • PowerShell experience strongly preferred.
    • Must be able to mee the physical demands of the position.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in information technology, related field, or equivalent experience.
    • Industry certifications (Microsoft, VMware, NetApp, Citrix) preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience automating repetitive tasks with scripting.

    • Visual acuity sufficient to work at a computer screen frequently and throughout the day, near and far visual acuity, depth perception, color vision sufficient to recognize people, words, and numbers.
    • Frequent standing and walking, and occasional bending, stooping, kneeling.
    • Occasional navigating and/or crawling in confined spaces in buildings.
    • Lifting to twenty-five (25) pounds frequently, fifty (50) pounds on an occasional basis, and more than fifty (50) pounds with assistance. The heavy objects to be lifted include rackmount server equipment, printers, and related equipment.
    • Body Twisting and turning during equipment installs.
    • Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to hear over phone and carry-on routine conversations.
    • Legally drive an automobile and transport equipment.
    • Sit for extended periods in a typing position.
    • Hand-eye-arm and finger dexterity to use a personal computer keyboard and other common office equipment for long periods of time.
