Founded in 2004, Black Diamond Solutions is an IT infrastructure consulting firmThe System Administrator is responsible for maintaining the design and integrity of the internal systems, clients' on-premise and cloud environments, as well as providing technical assistance to team members with system and network requests.Basic functions:* IT Support relating to issues with the internal systems and network infrastructureManage and support Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, LDAP/SSO, Azure/Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, Office 365, Teams/Skype for Business, and minimal SQL, SharePointManage internal private cloud infrastructure: VMware ESXi/vCenterManage and support WatchGuard and Netgate firewall(s) and Cisco Meraki network appliancesAdminister hosted and cloud solutions for clients using technologies: Microsoft Azure, VMwareAdminister disaster recovery solutions: Veeam, CrashPlan ProManage and support remote access technologies: ConnectWise Control, OpenVPN and Terminal ServicesMonitor the Network Operations Center (NOC) system alerts and notifications, and respond accordingly through service ticketsManage the Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) system: agent deployment, update agent scripts, respond to alerts, monitor dashboard, and periodic system revieCommunication with clients as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes, or scheduled outages within clients SLADuties include:Improve client service, perception, and satisfactionAbility to work in a team, lead junior technicians, and communicate effectivelyEscalate service or project issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levelsBusiness awareness: specific knowledge of the clients' environments and how IT relates to their business strategy and goalsDocument internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilitiesDocument maintenance for all computer systems and network infrastructureWork through a daily schedule and enter time in Professional Services Automation (PSA) platformKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and desire to help peopleSelf-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environmentTechnical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriatelyService awareness of all organization's key IT services and vendors for which support is being providedUnderstanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT servicesTyping skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request detailsAbility to multi-task and adapt to changes quicklyPrior Recommended Expereince:5+ Years of IT experienceProfessional IT Certifications, such as: Network+, Security+, Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or VMware VCPBA/BS, preferred but not requiredBenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience and qualificationsHealth, and dental benefits subidizedMobile phone and service includedContinuing education opportunities included85%-95% remote work, minimal on-site requirementsGreat opportunity for career advancementOnly candidates in the Greater Chicago Area need apply.The statements above are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
