SUMMARY: The IT Systems and Security Manager (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. Additionally, the SA is responsible for developing and implementing cybersecurity initiatives to protect the organization's digital assets. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff and customers. This individual is accountable for the following systems: Network and Windows systems that support day-to-day business operations. Responsibilities on these systems include SA engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance, and research and development to ensure continual innovation.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:SA Engineering and Provisioning:Engineering of SA-related solutions for various project and operational needs.Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.Contribute to and maintain system standards.Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.Operations and Support:Work with our vendors performing daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.Work with our vendors performing regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.Maintenance:Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.IT Security:Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures.Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security breaches.Manage and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and other security infrastructure.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.Provide training and awareness programs for staff on IT security best practices.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:IT Support Team Management: Oversee daily operations of the IT Support team, ensuring timely and effective resolution of support requests. Mentor and provide guidance to team members to foster a collaborative, high-performing environment. Establish and monitor performance metrics to enhance team productivity and service quality.Vendor Management: Lead vendor management activities, with a particular focus on infrastructure, networking, and security vendors. Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring vendors meet service level agreements (SLAs) and align with organizational objectives. Coordinate vendor assessments and regular performance reviews to optimize service quality, manage costs, and maintain compliance with organizational standards.ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Security Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with NIST cybersecurity standards and guidelines, contributing to the organization's commitment to best practices in security management and regulatory compliance.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's Degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Microsoft and/or experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, LAN/WAN Architecture.Knowledge of Warehousing Systems and processes is a plus.2+ years of systems administration experience.Experience with IT security practices and protocols.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and correspondence.Effective oral and written communication skills.Interpret and/or discuss information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people; regularly provide advice and recommend actions involving rather complex issues.
