JOB SUMMARY: TheIT Systems Engineer's main responsibility is to ensure the stability, security,and efficient operation of the information systems that support theorganization's core functions. They will use their communication, analytical,and problem-solving skills to monitor, maintain, support, and optimize allnetworked software and operating systems. As a Systems Engineer, you will havea critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization'sIT systems to ensure the highest levels of performance and security. PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and Monitor Systems:Oversee all installed systems and infrastructure to ensure smoothoperation. Installation and Configuration:Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, applicationsoftware, and system management tools. Availability and Performance:Proactively maintain high levels of systems and infrastructureavailability. Performance Optimization:Monitor and test application performance, identify bottlenecks, andcollaborate with developers to implement solutions. Security and Redundancy:Maintain security protocols, backup strategies, and redundancy measures. Scripting and Automation:Write and maintain custom scripts to enhance system efficiency and reducemanual intervention. Collaboration:Work closely with project managers, software developers, hardwareengineers, and other stakeholders. Support:Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support. Vendor Liaison: Communicate with vendors and other IT personnel toresolve issues. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Education:BS/MS degree in Computer Science, or a related field. TechnicalExperience: Proven working experience ininstalling, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows based environments. Solid administration andperformance tuning experience with application stacks (e.g., MicrosoftSQL, Remote Desktop Services, Azure). Familiaritywith cloud platforms, preferably AWS. Knowledgeof virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). Enterprisebackup and recovery procedures (Rubrik) Systemperformance-monitoring tools. Systempatching and hardening. Preferred Experience: Networking, switching, firewall, network access controls, wireless, programming languages, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Proficiencyin: Microsoft Active Directory System patching and hardening. Data Center and currentequipment technologies. Operating systems. System performance-monitoringtools. Virtualization (VMware andHyper-V). StorageTechnologies: Knowledge of SAN or NAS. Familiarity with ActiveDirectory/Global Catalogue (Pure Storage). ExceptionalAbilities: Load balancing, clustering,and caching procedures and processes. ProjectManagement and Cloud Computing: Proficient in projectmanagement. Application design andintegration. Cloud computing (specificallyMicrosoft Azure and AWS). ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS/PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS: On-call availability one week per month Sitting for extended periods working on a computer Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects up to 30 lbs., such as computers and peripherals Works approximately 100% of time in temperature-controlled environment conducting administrative duties.
