Job Description:
Summary of Position:Responsible for technical support of computers, printers, and software applications at facilities. Acts as member of IT project team for corporate wide systems and projects. Hour of Operation:Must be able to work rotational shifts of 4:30am to 1pm and 8am to 5pm, Monday thru Friday with occasional Saturday work. Essential Functions:
  • Technical support for end users.
  • Perform system back up procedures for all location servers.
  • Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
  • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments.
  • Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed.
  • Setting up new users and giving them access to the intranet.
  • Managing and maintaining the file servers.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Switches, Routers, Access Points.
  • Strong knowledge of systems (laptops, desktops, printers, MCF, and thermal printers).
  • Maintain documented hardware and software inventories including all licenses and maintenance agreements.
  • Responsible for hardware/software installation and upgrades.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all computer related hardware issues.
  • Document and report system issues to manager.
  • Special Skills:
  • Must Demonstrate: Recognized leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to effectively work with coworkers, vendors, contractors, and customers.
  • Must have manufacturing experience.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
    Experience:
    • At least 2 years' work experience in information technology in manufacturing industry.
    Skills, Competencies, & Other Qualifications:
  • Competent in Critical thinking and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication, written and oral, and customer service relationship skills. Ability to tailor message to the audience, exercise persuasion, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to handle various responsibilities simultaneously, ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operation system
  • Knowledge of WAN, LAN, and wireless networks
  • Able to work after hours and on weekends as needed or required
  • Ability to follow maintenance and performance guidelines as provided by manager.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry.
  • Able to run cat 5 cables.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Up to 25% travel visiting manufacturing facilities. Position requires time spent on the manufacturing floor.
