Position Title: Itinerant ECCAT/Supervisory Aide/Registered Behavior TechniciansDepartment: Tuscarora ElementaryReports To: PrincipalStart Date: October 22, 2024Salary: F Pay Scale with years of experience (minimum $28,310-maximum $42,290)Term: 200 DaysSUMMARY:Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional certification in applied behavior analysis. RBTs assist school staff in implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) practices under the direction and close supervision of aBCBA. The successful applicant will provide support and assistance in the areas of behavior management, communication and academic instruction. The ECCAT/Aide assists the teacher(s) in a variety of ways to implement the instructional program including working directly with children in small groupsor on a one-to-one basis; to establish effective rapport with students assigned to a K-2 classroom; to motivate students to develop attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good educational foundation, in accordance with each pupil's ability.DescriptionWe seek anenergetic, enthusiastic registered behavior technician who loves working with all children. Who will provide direct student instruction, and assist staff with implementation, in one-on-one and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment teaching arrangements.Follow BCBA direction to implement skills acquisition and behavior change protocols. Assist with preparing materials as necessary. Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior. Assist with skill acquisition and behavioral assessments. Collect data on all programming and document interventions, Progress data, and session notes. Assist with staff training of students' behavior intervention plans and other identified protocols through direct teaching, modeling, and fidelity checks. Immediately report to BCBA any student incidents/variances or complaints. Communicate with staff regarding student progress as instructed by the BCBA. Collaborate with school teams and attend I.E.P. meetings as necessary. Participate in in-service programs and present in-service programs as assigned.   • Assists teacher as needed with planning, preparation, and distribution of classroom materials
  • Conducts learning games with students according to established procedures
  • Maintains regular attendance and complies with State Law and County policies and procedures
  • Maintains an environment that is safe for students and conducive to learning
  • Anticipates and effectively addresses unforeseen crises associated with working with large groups of children
  • Assists with supervision and instruction of children; copying, cutting, coloring, etc., to construct materials and bulletin boards
  • Provides individualized and small-group instruction to reinforce skills that have been taught by the teacher
  • Assists in implementing lessons based on district and school objectives and needs and abilities of students

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent, pursuant to WV Code 18A-2-5;
  • Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code 18-5-15c;
  • Meet the definition of Qualifications in WV Code 18A-4-8b; demonstrated competency, pursuant to WV Code 18A-4-8e (state-approved competency test).
  • Must hold or be eligible to apply for ECCAT authorization (paraprofessional, temporary, or permanent).
    • Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher I - means a person who does not possess minimum requirements for the permanent authorization requirements but is employed in a PRE-K or K classroom plus enrolled in and perusing requirements;
    • Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher II -means a person who had completed the minimum requirements for a state- awarded authorization for early childhood classroom assistant teachers that meet or exceed the requirements for a child development associate.
    • Early childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher III __ means a person who has completed ECCAT permanent authorization requirements, as well as completing additional requirements comparable to current paraprofessional certificate
