- Minimum B.S. Degree
- Certification in Special Education
- Working knowledge of computer and student information software
REPORTS TO:
- Principal or Principal's designee / Special Education Coordinator
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determine individual and class needs.
- Supervises students
- Establish objectives and plan learning experiences.
- Implement activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
- Exhibit positive human relations skills.
- Evaluate the educational program and/or student progress.
- Communicate with parents/guardians, colleagues and community groups.
- Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication.
- Maintains and submit records and reports.
- Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations.
- Engage in personal professional growth and demonstrate professional ethics and leadership.
- The planning and conduct of daily learning activities within the classroom as defined by the State Course of Study and the Board of Education.
- Shall perform any other job or school related duties as assigned by the Principal or Supervisor.
- Maintain the confidentiality of student records.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Salary and work year to be in accordance with the current applicable salary schedule .
EVALUATION:
- Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
