Job Description:
The ITS & Toll Field Systems Supervisor will oversee the servicing, repair and/or installation of Toll Collection Systems (TCS), Intelligent Transformation Subsystems (ITS), Network Communications Systems (NCS), and various traffic management devices (Traffic Signals, Air Quality Monitors (AQM), First Responder Radio System (FRRS), Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS), Reversable Lane System HOV). The ITS & Toll Field Systems Supervisor manages the field support activities to include troubleshooting and repair of electronic equipment, systems, and wiring; installation of equipment; upgrades, modifications, programming; preventive maintenance actions; documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide and schedule training activities for technicians.
* Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports related to system and technician performance.
* Ensure junior personnel are up to date with all necessary certifications and licensing as it relates to safety and proficiency requirements.
* Develop new training techniques and courses to improve department capabilities.
* Identify system and personnel performance trends and efficiencies.
* Responsible for process and procedure development
* Documentation of all system changes, metrics, designs, processes and procedures where applicable
* Responsible for driving continual process improvement, analysis and reporting
* Proactively Identify potential exceptions through the use of:
* Automated control reports;
* Analysis of system data and trends;
* Discussions with external service providers or analysis of external interface data;
* Discussions with the system maintenance provider;
* Reporting customer and revenue facing tolling issues
* Respond to corrective maintenance requests and alarms within the allotted time frame
* Manage isolation of faults in units and/or components
* Diagnose and repair hardware, software and system issues
* Complete work order reports and logs
* Perform shift-to-shift communications in accordance with established policies, procedures and local practices
* Actively escalate system issues and systemic problems to system maintenance.
* Collaborate with system maintenance on approach to resolve issues.
* Review proposed changes to the system.
* Manage System Development and Testing of units and/or components.
* Support testing and verification of system changes after implementation.
* Manage all preventative/corrective maintenance activities:
* Installation, preventive/corrective maintenance of toll collection equipment to include lane controllers (servers & PC hardware), RFID, power supplies, closed circuit television cameras, microwave vehicle detectors, network components (routers, switches, cabling) and dynamic message signs.
* Fiber optic and ethernet based networking.
* Maintenance of spare equipment and parts including inventory management and documentation
* Installation of electrical conductors, data conductors, and fiber optic cable
* Connection of electrical conductors to power services to energize equipment.
* Module and/or PC board swap out
* Coordinate roadway closures with local Engineering dept, roadway maintenance dept and contractors.
* Planning and submission of planned roadway closures for maintenance activities in accordance with established safety and TXDOT (TXMUTCD) standards.
* Ability to plan maintenance of Traffic and pedestrian signals and safety equipment.
* This will be a full-time position with a nightly 10-hour shift Thursday 6pm - Monday 5am.

Education & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in IT, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or adjacent military training.
* 3-5 years of experience leading cross-functional teams in support, planning, warehousing and maintenance activities.
* 7-10 years of related experience in field support, information technology, tolling systems and/or intelligent transportation systems
* Fundamental electrical and mechanical knowledge.

* Some experience working with Linux preferred.
* Strong networking knowledge with Ethernet, switches, and fiber hubs.
