**Janitor- Evening Shift**

**Department:** Environmental Services **Location:** Seattle, WA

Horizon House is a community of staff and residents connecting and learning together. We are currently looking for a Janitor to bring a smile to our residents, and perform duties that allowthem to live in a clean and comfortable home. **Our residents love the staff and you can help make a difference for them!**

This position is responsible for interacting with staff and residents in a professional, courteous manner while performing a variety of janitorial and minor maintenance services necessary to keep the community areas of Horizon House clean and safe.

**What Youll Do**

Essential Job Duties:

Perform cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy, including but not limited to the following:

* Vacuum, shampoo and extract carpets and upholstered furniture.

* Cleaning common and garage areas.

* Clean and stock restrooms.

* Empty waste and recycling receptacles throughout the facility.

* Set-up/tear-down community areas for special events.

* Detail cleaning of residential units.

* Respond to radio calls as needed.

* Respond to and complete work orders as assigned.

Secondary Job Duties:

* Interior window and screen cleaning.

* Participate in staff training and meetings as directed.

* Other duties as may be assigned by Environmental Services Manager, Lead, or other supervisory staff.

* Monday: 3p-1130p

* Thursday: 3p-1130p

* Friday: 3p-1130p

* Saturday: 3p-1130p

* Sunday: 3p-1130p

**What Were Looking For:**

* **Education:** High school graduation or GED or equivalent preferred

* **Experience:** Minimum one (1) year professional janitorial or housekeeping experience required with heavy emphasis on carpet and floor care. Experience in long-term care or hospital setting preferred

* **Knowledge:** Cleaning chemicals, their usage, storage and disposal. Two-way radio, vacuum cleaner, space vacuum, carpet extractor, floor polisher, slow-speed buffer, floor burnisher, floor care and cleaning products, carts and elevators. Must be fluent in English and be able to follow directions given orally and in writing. Must be able to fill out and complete work-related forms and schedules. Demonstrated ability to interact appropriately with residents and staff. Ability to work in a timely manner to meet established deadlines.
