The Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day custodial operations, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and overall facility appearance. The Supervisor supports the goal of maintaining a high standard of cleanliness while being efficient and cost-effective. They supervise custodial staff, coordinate cleaning schedules, monitor tasks, and ensure all cleaning methods are up to standard. The Janitorial Supervisor also assists in training staff and ensuring compliance with all safety and cleanliness protocols. Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise the use and maintenance of custodial equipment and supplies, including vacuum cleaners, floor machines, and cleaning products; ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and materials to meet the needs of the facility.
- Coordinate and monitor the activities of custodial staff, ensuring their tasks are completed according to organizational standards and within scheduled timelines.
- Maintain up-to-date records and documentation related to custodial operations and tasks completed by staff.
- Assist with hiring, training, and development of custodial staff, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
- Support the implementation of quality assurance and control processes to maintain best practices in cleanliness and hygiene.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness and address any issues immediately.
- Promote a positive working environment by demonstrating leadership and upholding high safety and service standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing any facility cleanliness concerns promptly.
- Ensure custodial programs are effectively implemented to meet client and operational needs.

Requirements (Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Education and/or Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent level of professional education in Facility Management, Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related custodial experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning methods and floor care.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a custodial team.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and address cleanliness or maintenance issues in a timely manner.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, management, clients, and customers.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing situations, and manage competing demands.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Attention to detail, organization skills, and the ability to work in various physical positions, including standing, sitting, walking, bending and repetitive movement.
