Founded 33 years ago, Allied Consultants is an Austin-based firm and premier provider of technical and business staffing solutions for the State of Texas. We are currently seeking an experienced Java Developer to be a key resource on a technical services team for our client, Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).

**Location of job: Remote.**

Responsibilities

The Worker(s) will provide the following services:

Perform advanced automated systems development work in support of Applications Solutions systems. Responsible for activities during all phases of the system development life cycle including analyzing, diagnosing and resolving software, data, hardware and reporting problems and troubleshooting system issues for internal and external clients. Develops and tests Java Applications that meet design specifications, including accessibility and usability requirements. Documents current processes, reviews written specification additions/modifications and creates test cases for submitted defects involving new and modified program policies. Analyze, design, and develop logical, structured programs and systems appropriate to customer needs which are well-documented programs and that may be maintained by others. Ensure adherence to program documentation and procedural standards, and management goals and objectives.

Performs other duties as assigned to maintain IT operations.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• 8 years of Java
• 8 years of JSP/HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Bootstrap 2.0
• 8 years experience in SQL, DDL, DML, Stored Procedures
• 8 years of Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Batch
• 8 years knowledge of Web API Development, including SOAP, REST, XML, and JSON, REST preferred
• 8 years experience with automating identity management services to include user authentication and authorization using an authentication framework, using Azure, Okta, LDAP, Entra
• 8 years experience with integrating web services across cloud platforms, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and PaaS environments
• 8 years working knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts and technology
• 8 years of MS Azure Cloud technologies – Java on Azure, Azure SQL Server, JBOSS EAP on Azure
• 8 years working knowledge of scripting and batch processing in legacy and current technology
• 8 years experience with building WCAG compliant web applications
• 8 years knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles, practices and techniques of application programming and software design
• 8 years ability to accurately test software applications using a data driven development approach
• 8 years skilled in solving problems; in scheduling, testing, installing, and implementing programs; and in troubleshooting computer software systems

Preferred:

• 3 years experience using GitHub in DevOps Cloud Environment
• 3 years of strong written and verbal communication skills to document relevant issues clearly and accurately, and prepare accurate, concise, reliable reports
• 3 years of SDLC tools – Visio, Miro, ERWIN, Jira, Confluence, and ALM Octane
• Other programming languages: .Net, C#
