Java Engineer
Location: Onsite in Bristol, CT
We are seeking a skilled Java Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bristol, CT. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for developing robust systems and working in a collaborative environment.
Key Requirements:
- At least 2 years of professional experience in Java development.
- Experience with cloud technologies is highly preferred.
- Ability to work onsite in Bristol, especially during training and initial oversight.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A passion for sports is a plus.
- Familiarity with entertainment or media industries is desirable.
- Experience working in a large enterprise environment is advantageous.
Interview Process:
- Step 1: 30-minute initial screening.
- Step 2: 1-hour technical panel interview.
Responsibilities:
Application Development (50%)- Participate in requirements gathering, system design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Maintain and enhance existing systems to support a high-performance environment.
Troubleshooting and Support (30%)- Collaborate with team members to resolve complex engineering issues involving high-traffic web services and APIs.
- Contribute to the on-call rotation for issue resolution.
Scalability and Innovation (20%)- Propose and implement improvements to ensure our data platform is scalable, resilient, and reliable.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and share insights with the team.
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Exposure to developing high-volume, fault-tolerant, and scalable systems.
- Hands-on experience with the full application development lifecycle, including unit testing, code reviews, and documentation.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Java and related open-source technologies, such as:
- Spring Framework
- Tomcat
- MySQL
- Kafka
- Elasticsearch
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
