Job Description:

Context:

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with extensive experience in software development and system integration across multiple asset classes within capital markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and hands-on experience integrating vendor solutions such as ION, Bloomberg, Broadridge, and Polypaths. This role is crucial for supporting business functions related to market and credit risk across various asset classes and involves working on complex, high-impact projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and Integrate Systems: Design, develop, and integrate Java/Groovy components into a cross-asset technology stack, including both in-house systems and third-party solutions such as ECNs, ION, Bloomberg, Broadridge, Polypaths, and Murex.

- Cross-Asset Expertise: Utilize your understanding of trade flows, valuations, and risk management processes across multiple asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives, etc.) to support development and systems integration.

- Support Risk Management Systems: Leverage experience with securitized products systems such as Polypaths to support market and credit risk functions across different asset categories.

- Project Leadership: Contribute to the design and delivery of complex development projects that align with key business objectives, ensuring timely delivery of robust solutions.

- Quality Assurance and Support: Ensure technical excellence by performing quality assurance tasks and providing engineering support to the development team.

- Continuous Improvement:Promote best practices, technology standards, and continuous improvement initiatives within the technology stack and development lifecycle.

Key Requirements:

- Strong proficiency in Java and Groovy, with a focus on systems integration and application development.

- High proficiency in SQL and experience with databases used in capital markets environments.

- Familiarity with integration tools and SDLC frameworks, including Git, Gradle, Camel, and Kafka.

- Exposure to cloud platforms, particularly AWS (EC2, S3), is a plus.

- Deep understanding of cross-asset trade flows and the functioning of multiple financial markets (equities, fixed income, commodities, and derivatives).

- Experience working with industry-leading solutions such as ION, Bloomberg, Broadridge, and Polypaths.

- Ability to work efficiently in both Agile and Waterfall project environments, ensuring adaptability and effective collaboration.

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

- 5+ years of experience in Information Technology, Application Development, or a similar role within the capital markets sector.
