Position Description Administrative Specialist - 2 positions Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $43,600 - $50,000 Starting Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience The State Corporation Commission (SCC) seeks two motivated, responsible, and detail-oriented individuals to provide administrative and office support within its Clerk's Office and its Division of Securities and Retail Franchising (SRF). The Administrative Specialist position offers a hybrid work schedule (generally 3 days of telework and 2 days in office per week) as well as opportunities to attend job-related training. Responsibilities of the selected candidate for the Clerk's Office will include: purchasing and maintaining supplies, services, and equipment; managing the accounts payable process; maintaining correspondence and files; and entering data and documents into internal systems. Additional functions of this position include answering the division's main internal telephone line; maintaining the division's supply area; and performing other general office duties as assigned. Responsibilities of the selected candidate for SRF will include: maintaining SRF's registration files, to include setting up initial registration applications, assigning files to an SRF examiner, and archiving old files. Entering, retrieving, and coordinating data maintained on the registration database with the data in other systems is also a function of this role. Organizing amendment filings and processing applications and/or renewals are additional duties of the selected candidate for this position. This Administrative Specialist will also process incoming mail daily, enter check and ACH payments into the Division's electronic systems, and perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Preferred qualifications for this position include experience providing related administrative support to staff in an office environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are critical for success in this position. Ideal candidates for this position will take initiative, have strong organizational skills, and the ability to shift quickly from one task to another. Knowledge in the use of a personal computer, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite is essential. The ability to work with a team and establish and maintain effective working relationships with SCC staff and the general public is critical for success in this position. Experience with the Microsoft SharePoint platform is a plus.
