DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Instructs Individuals served in proper performance of job duties. This includes training in specific job skills, as well as proper work habits, socialization skills, dress and hygiene, work safety, and work attitude.
* Identifies deficiencies in Individuals served job performance and undertakes remedial actions to remedy them. Involves and informs Supported Employment Manager (SEMP Manager) and/or Assistant Supportive Employment Manager (Assistant SEMP Manager) of deficiencies identified and coordinates necessary services as appropriate.
* Works with employer and supervisor to assure Individual served acceptance at work site and resolved any problems which may arise.
* Maintains job coaching reports as requested by the SEMP Manager and/or Assistant SEMP Manager
* Performs any other duties as deemed necessary by Assistant SEMP Manager, SEMP Manager, Director of Community Employment Services, Associate Executive Director of Day Services, and/or the Executive Director.
* Keeps records and documentation relating to Individuals served progress and activity.
* Attends case conferences for Individuals served as assigned. Meets with AVR as requested by SEMP Manager and/or Assistant SEMP Manager.
* Performs Specialized training and re-training. Provides suggestions and methods regarding training to ensure a smooth transition.
* Delivers services consistent with the accepted principles of work adjustment.
* Acts as a liaison with the family and other residential services providers if necessary.
* Assists Individuals served in arranging for necessary services in the community.
* Provides insight/in-put into Agency goals.
* Conducts self in a manner consistent with professional rehabilitation principles and Agency goals.
* Establishes link with area employers and placement services to develop job openings in conjunction with the Placement Specialist.
* Suggests measure to improve production and also changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
* Is responsible for the general housekeeping of assigned area.
* Conducts self as a member of a therapeutic team in regards and relation with all Individuals served by this Agency, and maintains this professional relationship at all times. No unapproved activities with Individuals served are permitted.
* Conducts self in such a manner as to meet Agency policies and standards at all times.
* Is responsible for inventory of assigned materials.
* Understands and applies learning that all Individuals served information is confidential and not to be shared outside the Agency to include public or social settings.
* Maintains and objective approach to job duties, free of personal values and philosophies.
* Participates in investigations in any matter related to the Agency, staff, or Individuals served.
* Becomes familiar with Genesee County and Orleans County and the resources available for the future Supported Employment sites.
* Keeps all Agency business and communications within the Agency and communicates through the proper channels of the chain of command and appeals process.
* Understands and applies learning that proselytizing on the job or using Agency information regarding Individuals served to promote one's own personal philosophy, is prohibited both during and after working hours.
* Punctuality and attendance during scheduled work hours are essential functions of this position.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
High School diploma or Associate's Degree in related field. Experience working with Individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
Must have valid New York State Driver's License/
Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 30 pounds.
