This person will market and grow the museum and its programs through grants, outreach education, web, virtual reality, and social media programs and tools. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communications, and management competencies; and will possess knowledge related to history, cultural anthropology, or museum operations. The selectee will serve a one-year, performance-based contract that may be extended year-to-year, depending on annual results.Job Responsibilities: Relations with HDVI Board of Directors: Participate with the Board in developing a vision and strategic plan.Plan and develop the annual budget in coordination with the BOD President and Treasurer.Identify and inform the BOD of internal and external issues affecting HDVI.Act as a professional advisor to the BOD on all activities.Draft policies for BOD approval and prepare procedures for implementation.Prepare operational reports and supporting materials for BOD meetings.Ensure understanding of general liability insurance coverage among BOD and staff. Operational and Program Management: Develop an operational plan aligned with HDVI strategic goals.Manage planning, execution, and evaluation of programs and events.Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure effective use of resources. Financial Planning and Management: Execute and report on the approved budget to the BOD.Supervise fund management and accounting procedures.Research funding sources and develop relationships with potential donors. Communications, Outreach, Community Relations, and Advocacy: Establish relationships with community groups and officials.Inform the public of HDVI programs and events.Represent HDVI at meetings and community activities. Personnel and Supervision: Determine staffing requirements and oversee HR policies.Maintain a safe work environment compliant with regulations.Recruit, train, and evaluate staff and volunteers.
