Job Description:
The Sr. Test Engineer designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. The position performs a variety of technical, multi-disciplined tasks across the product pipeline, from development through production. The Sr. Test Engineer makes knowledgeable, data-driven decisions and employs innovative technologies with optimal control and maximum speed and flexibility.RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensures testability of new product designs, providing feedback to design teamsAccurately estimates project costs associated with implementing test solutionsOwns the test requirements from the vendor to shipment to the customerVerifies products meet functional requirements including design verification, running automated and manual testsPrepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment and completes specifications and procedures for new productsAnalyzes capabilities and ensures control of critical parameters of products and test equipmentUtilizes LabVIEW and ATE (Automated Test Equipment)Performs HW and SW validation activities for new productsRecords all work in clear and concise languageWORK ENVIRONMENT:The Sr. Test Engineer regularly works in the office, lab, and manufacturing facilities. Travel to international manufacturing and/or development locations may be requiredQUALIFICATIONS:Must have strong problem-solving attributes and be able to rely on experience and independent judgement to plan and accomplish goalsProficiency in LabVIEW is requiredAbility to operate a variety of electrical test instrumentationCapability in hardware and software developmentMS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)Electrical Engineering background is requiredAbility to read PCB schematics critically for troubleshooting purposesEXPERIENCE:10+ years of relevant Test Engineering experience/manufacturing supportProven ability to methodically solve complex, technical issues with a wide degree of creativity and latitudeEDUCATION:Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline preferred or equivalent experience; Master's Degree in Engineering is preferred6-sigma or equivalent statistical, problem-solving methodology - desiredCOMPENSATION:As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
