JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:
Neumann University is currently seeking a qualified applicant for the full-time position of Desktop & Laptop Computer Support Specialist.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Assist Neumann University community users of desktop and laptop computers, and other hardware devices, along with related software applications including Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.
* Responsible for assisting users to determine system functional specifications, as well as providing hardware/software support in support of the ITR Help Desk staff by responding to calls and logged problems.
* Configure University PCs and laptops.
* Consult with end users to determine hardware, software, and system functional specifications.
* Provide desktop and laptop computer hardware and software support to the University community in support of the ITR Help Desk staff by responding to calls and logged problems.
* Use Help Desk database effectively to record new requests and document work.
* Maintain up-to-date expertise in the operation and application of university standard hardware and software, as well as a working knowledge of a wide variety of commonly used hardware and software.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in computer-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience with desktop and laptop computing.
* Ability to work independently and as a team member and leader.
* Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to communicate effectively with end users.
* Skill in the following areas: Windows, Microsoft Office, Multimedia software, Internet applications.
* A working knowledge of audio video technologies.
