A week in the life of a Journey Flight Controls Software / Computer Engineer includes:
- Provide technical and programmatic support and oversight on Navy aircraft platforms including F-35, E-2, and F-18.
- Perform software testing at the unit, component, and software configuration item level on safety-critical systems.
- Conduct test planning, execution, and reporting on software-intensive aircraft systems.
- Design, develop, integrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain aircraft safety-critical software.
- Perform low-level software / hardware interfacing such as board support packages.
- Analyze redundancy management of safety critical control systems.
- Support Built-In-Test (BIT) design and test.
- Complete Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) design, development, integration, and test including processor caching, software throughput, and space and time partitioning.
- Support the flight control system software support activity.
Job Requirements
- The ability to obtain a Secret clearance (Requires US Citizenship)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other technical discipline
- 2-5 years of relevant experience
- Flight Control Law design and analysis
- Flight Control system simulation and hardware in the loop
- Flight Control system testing (ground, flight, and lab environment)
- Flight Control Software development, integration, analysis, and test

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $80,000-120,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
